Timneh African Grey Parrot

The Timneh African Grey has a slightly different appearance from what many people imagine when they hear the name African Grey. Rather than having the familiar bright red tail of the Congo, the Timneh displays a deep burgundy coloration that gives its appearance a unique character. Its body is covered in dark charcoal-grey feathers, with lighter areas around the rump and abdomen. Another noticeable feature is its upper beak, which has a lighter reddish or horn-colored appearance.

Their personality can be just as engaging as that of the Congo Grey. Timnehs are intelligent, alert and naturally curious about their surroundings. They enjoy exploring objects and learning through interaction. For a breeder or owner, understanding their individual temperament is important because not every bird responds to handling and new experiences in exactly the same way.
